My husband and I have both lived in the Macon, GA area for more than fifty years. We have visited all the best Restaurants and maybe one or two we might not have returned to. Of course, we have our favorites, but we enjoy trying out the new places when they arrive, too.
Downtown Macon has been revitalized and is a hot spot for restaurants and entertainment at various times of the year. Some of those local restaurants are on this list, but we also included local favorite restaurants from all over town.

Macon Cherry Blossom Festival
The Macon Cherry Blossom Festival brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to the area in the early spring. If you plan to visit during the Cherry Blossom festival, you might want to choose your restaurants and, if needed, make reservations, which would be the case for fine dining, particularly.
During the Cherry Blossom festival, there will be a Food Truck event, many of which are local or from the middle Georgia area, but not all.
Downtown Christmas Lights
The spectacular display of outdoor Christmas lights during the holidays draws a very large crowd downtown. I recommend you go a little early if you plan to make an evening of it, so you can get a seat in one of the many downtown restaurants. We visited Kudzu restaurant while enjoying the lights a few years ago and had a blast.
