Where is Dublin, Ga.?

Dublin is located just off I-16 about a two and a half hour drive south from the Atlanta area. It is known for it’s St. Patrick’s Festival each year in March.

If you are traveling down I-16 in either direction, plan to stop in Dublin and treat yourself to any one of these local restaurants. If you live in the middle Georgia area and are looking for a nice place to take a short road trip for dinner with your friends, head to Dublin.

If this is your first time visiting Dublin, I’m glad you stopped by to find a good place to eat. I have included breakfast, lunch and dinner places. Fine dining and hot spots where you need to make reservations to keep from waiting too long.

Downtown restaurants in Dublin, Ga.

Deano’s Italian Grill is located on Jackson Street in the downtown historic district of Dublin among their beautiful tree-lined streets.

Locally owned and operated with great reviews everywhere. The food is good, made with the freshest ingredients, the service is good, and the ambiance in a historic building with fun.

Try the Chicken Marsala and brick oven pizza, the reviews are great on both. Their menu has all of your Italian pasta favorites plus more including steak and seafood. Reservations recommended. Free street parking downtown.

Deano’s is one of the Dublin restaurants on the list of 100 Plates Locals love.

Ristorante Da Maria dining room

Ristorante Da Maria is not just another Italain restaurant. Part of Dublin Farm that is an an agritourism Bed & Breakfast located on a picturesque 30-acre farm setting. You do not need to be a guest of the B&B to dine at the restaurant. Great reviews, mostly five stars.

Make reservations and plan for an evening of fine dining filled with tasty traditional Italian cuisine. You will be treated to a freshly prepared meal featuring locally grown produce, herbs and fresh ingredients in a quaint setting.

The restaurant’s maximum seating capacity is 35, so make reservations early. Visit the website and select the menu drop down. You will be able to see the current dinner selections with price and make your reservations online for Friday or Saturday night.

Saltwater Fishery is located in historic downtown Dublin on South Jefferson Street in a wonderful old original brick building restored from its early days.

Dine downstairs in the spacious dining room or hang out on the rooftop bar overlooking downtown Dublin. Be sure to make reservations because Saltwater Fishery is a hot spot in Dublin. They serve local food and produce and Georgia wild shrimp when available.

The menu includes not only seafood but great appetizers and steaks as well. They do have a kid’s menu and a Tiki Hut menu for rooftop bar dining.

I can attest to how good their fried shrimp are and those delectable Funnel Cake Batter Hush Puppies the waitress will bring when you first sit down are addictive. The customer service is on spot and the food is delicious.

Company Supply on Jackson Street, across in front of Deano’s Italian Grill. Company Supply is another Dublin Hotspot. Call ahead for reservations because it can get rather crowded. If you do have to wait, it’s quite pleasant outside with tables and lighting. Live music on the weekends in the bar.

Company Supply is a Rotisserie Bistro serving honest all-natural food with a “Southern Spin”. Their shrimp and grits are some of the best around and I should know since it’s my go-to dish to try at restaurants I visit.

You will find some seriously southern dishes on the menu like Red Beans and Rice, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Sweet Potato Cheesecake. There is a kids menu and it has a nice big selection for the young ‘uns.

Barbeque restaurants in Dublin, Ga.

Southern Heritage BBQ restaurant in Dublin Georgia

Southern Heritage Barbeque is located on Veterans Boulevard. across from the Ford dealership and near Walmart. They are serving some of the best BBQ and Stew in middle Georgia from a small rather non-descript building just perfect for their fare.

The ribs are my personal favorite at Southern Heritage but the Stew is pretty good too. You will also find a whole lot of patrons leaving great reviews for the Loaded Barbeque baked potato.

The reviews say it all with almost 5 stars. Good food, friendly service, and perfect atmosphere for a small southern town BBQ joint.

Holy Smokes BBQ. Dublin, Ga.

Holy Smokes Barbeque and Catering, another local favorite BBQ joint. Locally owned and located on Hillcrest Parkway in the Dublin Village shopping center.

Owned by local award-winning Pitmasters, Holy Smokes’ hickory-smoked, slow-roasted BBQ has won dozens of Grand Championships. Visit their website to read the fun story of how they got their name.

Reviewers love everything on the menu it seems, Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and even the potato salad which southerners can be quite picky about.

Locals are not the only ones to stop in at Holy Smokes, once you know, you gotta go. If you are traveling down I-16 between Atlanta and Savannah, plane to stop.

La Joya Mexican Restaurant is located on Rice Ave. across from Veterans Blvd. near the VA Hospital, about 5 miles off I-16. Plan to satisfy your craving for authentic Mexican food at La Joya and be sure to order the fresh guacamole with homemade chips.

Choose from fresh, homemade tacos, quesadillas, bistec a la Mexicana, or tortas. With authentic meat options like carnitas, beef, chicken, shrimp, tilapia, tripe, and more. Mexican Coke is available on the menu as well.

Reviews are quite good with 4.7 stars on Google, 4.9 on Facebook, and a full 5 stars on Trip Advisor. Expect good food with good service in a friendly atmosphere.

East Dublin Seafood is both a restaurant and a fresh seafood market located only a couple of miles from historic downtown Dublin on Nathaniel Dr.

Your seafood is cooked fresh to order in the restaurant. Reviews are great and give high regards to the fried shrimp that are Georgia grown.

Prices are reasonable without all the fancy fixings, just good down-home style seafood.  Order catfish, shrimp, oysters, frog legs, and crab with your choice of Southern sides like hush puppies, slaw, grits, and vegetables and homemade tarter sauce.

Hot Dog, Fries and burger at Minute Grill in Dublin, Ga.

The Minute Grill an iconic family-owned Dublin restaurant since the 1950s. Another good reason to visit historic downtown Dublin on Jackson St.

It is always good to find the local hot spot for a good hot dog and burger. Minute Grill has stood the test of time. Open for lunch serving those homemade fries, burgers, and hot dogs the way you like them. Nothing fancy, just good food in a friendly local environment at reasonable prices.

If you are in Dublin for St. Patrick’s celebration, give yourself a treat by having lunch at The Minute Grill.

Brian’s Giant Subs is located in The Oaks Shopping Center on Veterans Blvd. and they are the proud owners of an excellent review, a perfect 5 out of 5 on Facebook with over almost 500 folks leaving a review. It’s a 4.9 on Google, which is great. That’s all we really need to know but I will tell you more.

Fresh bread baked daily melts in your mouth. Your choice of meats and cheeses includes great service. Brian remembers the name of the local regulars and not only that, he remembers your order too. Personal service served with a side of humor and by a fast friendly staff.

According to their Facebook page, Brian’s does Venmo and Cash App, another plus.

Miller’s Soul Food is another iconic local restaurant that has stood the test of time. Located on S. Lawrence Street just around the corner from Company Supply and Deano’s.

You will be treated to downhome southern cooking at this meat and three restaurant. Menu items include great food at affordable prices such as; pork chops, fried chicken, baked chicken, meatloaf, stew beef on rice, and more entrees. Daily menu items including side dishes are all listed on the Facebook page.

Miller’s has great reviews across the board and is listed in Georgia’s 100 Plates Locals Love.

The Latin Phoenix Creperie has a beautiful outdoor seating area along with their quaint eclectic vibe inside the historic Fred Roberts building downtown.

They feature local art, music, and, social events along with good Latin food and a great experience. Great reviews and folks love their atmosphere. A nice place for a coffee and dessert break or a lunch date with friends. Their signature crepe fillings are made fresh. Don’t miss dinner and music at the Latin Phonix. Take your date for a fun and relaxing evening.

The owner is R&B artist Amaryllis Santiago who always has something special going on at the restaurant and at Theatre Dublin. Check the Facebook page for updates and a list of local events.

Lou Ann’s Biscuits and Burgers on Telfair St. A Dublin hot spot for breakfast for over 30 years. There is a good reason locals love this place. They are famous for the biggest and best biscuits around.

Lou Ann’s is the kind of place the locals hold dear to their hearts. Another good restaurant that has stood the test of time. Good food served by friendly folks at a reasonable price.

They are not open long, so go early. Only open for breakfast right now. According to their Facebook page, their current hours of operation are 5:15 am until 10:45 am. The breakfast menu is full of choices but if you enjoy a good Bacon, Egg and Cheese biscuit, theirs get rave reviews.
