William Asa Belue acquired the property around the late 1800s and began a family there with his wife, Sarah Margaret Howard. Along with their 9 children, Verna, Bessie, Alma, Alexander, Chester, Ted, Hubert, Lettie, and Corbette. They raised cotton, corn, hay, cattle, kept milk cows, grew food crops, and kept other animals to assist in the field work as well as to provide food. In these simple times, Family was everything, and everyone pulled together. This tradition continues as the fourth and fifth generations of the Asa Belue Family reside on the property, and we welcome visitors to our haven.
